Gabriel is a seasoned Banking Operations Executive with over 10 years of experience driving growth, operational efficiency, and portfolio performance within the microfinance and financial services sector. He has progressed from frontline lending roles to executive leadership, bringing a comprehensive understanding of every layer of banking operations.
Gabriel began his career as an SME Portfolio Manager at Microcred from 2014 to 2016, where he managed an SME loan portfolio valued at over ₦150M, covering 150+ active clients. He then joined Baobab Group, where he spent over 8 years in progressively senior roles. He served as Branch Supervisor from 2016 to 2019, overseeing loan officers and ensuring disbursement targets and portfolio quality standards were met. He rose to Branch Manager from 2019 to 2021, managing branch operations including loan disbursement, recovery, and customer acquisition. He then served as Regional Manager from 2021 to 2024, overseeing multi-branch operations and ensuring portfolio quality, compliance, and financial performance across Oyo State.
He joined Alert Microfinance Bank in August 2024 as Chief Operating Officer, where he leads bank-wide operations including credit, loan approval, recovery, and branch performance across multiple locations.
Gabriel’s expertise spans banking operations, credit and risk management, loan portfolio management, financial analysis, branch and regional management, and SME lending.
He managed an SME loan portfolio of over ₦150M covering 150+ active clients at Microcred. He successfully oversaw multi-branch operations across Oyo State at Baobab Group, maintaining strong portfolio quality and compliance standards. He has built a consistent track record of driving operational efficiency and sustainable financial growth across every role he has held.
He holds a Microfinance Certification from the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), issued in January 2018. He is also a Certificate Member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered), issued in August 2009.
